Advanced Open Water

Why PADI Advanced Open Water?

After completing your PADI Open Water Diver course, the next logic step is to complete the Advanced Open Water course. I highly recommend this course if you plan on diving a little or a lot once certified. We’ll be expanding on the basic skills learned in Open Water and getting comfortable at deeper depths. Many of the reefs and wrecks in South Florida are deeper than the Open Water certification depth limits. Taking an Advanced Open Water class will prepare and enable you to explore many of these great South Florida diving locations!

What will I learn?

During the PADI Advanced Open Water course, you learn how to plan dives and how to deal with the physiological effects and challenges of deeper scuba diving. In addition, you will refine your compass navigation skills and learn how to better navigate using kick-cycles, visual landmarks and time. The course will cover five dives that are included in the price of the package as well as some course material work. Course material is not included in the price of the course (price: $46).

How much does it cost?

Pricing starts at only $355 and the course can be completed Wednesday PM – Sunday PM. Check my course schedule to find out when the next course starts. Please contact me if you need to book a specific time that is not on the schedule as I can usually accommodate with advanced notice.

What do I need to start?

Besides the basic gear required for open water diving, you’ll need to invest in a dive knife and compass. I am happy to point you in the “right direction” (pun intended.)
